Sydney's Story

Sydney had Open House at school last week. They were paired up with a 5th grade buddy and they wrote this story about themselves. It was so sweet and funny, I just had to post it. Enjoy!

Sydney VanHorn

My buddy's name is Sydney VanHorn. She was born on June 11, 2002.

Sydney has two sisters, Molly and Gracie. Molly is one year old and Gracie is three and a half. When she wants to be alone, she likes to go to her Mom's room or Molly's room. Molly's room has toys that Sydney can play with and her mom has a TV and a soft bed.

You might see Sydney eating a fruit roll up while watching "Curious George". The she pops a stick of gum into her mouth! After she spits out her gum, she'll put on a fresh coat of lip gloss. Cherry in fact!

Sydney likes to read a lot of Dr. Seuss's works. Her favorite is One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. She likes it because it rhymes and she thinks it's really funny.

She has a gold fish named Magenta and she wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up. Sydney really likes animals. Her favorite toy is a stuffed animal named Big Kemper. She's had him since she was really little.

Even though she really doesn't like school, she would have to say that she likes spelling the best.

Sydney likes corn dogs. It's her favorite school lunch. She prefers to have them with a cinnamon roll. She likes to eat these things after a soccer game and then watch "Sid the Science Kid". It is her favorite cartoon.

Merry Christmas! Sydney enjoys Christmas because she gets lots of presents and candy. Then, after she's done opening presents, she loves eating warm blueberry pie. With whipped cream too!

Sydney's earliest memory is when she drew a picture for her dad in preschool. It's so vague; she can't even remember what was drawn on the paper!

Sadie is Sydney's best friend because she is hilarious and fun to play with! She enjoys playing pretend games with her friends and just plain spending time with them.

Sydney hates make up! It's fake looking and causes skin damage. But jewelry is awesome! If worn in smaller amounts, jewelry can make you look fantastic!

When she packs a home lunch, she likes to pack a Lunchable, Oreos and pudding. She is totally for a healthy lunch with just the right amount of fun!

Sydney loves having fifth grade buddies and she thinks first graders should have buddies every year. She would like to make a sculpture of her buddy and paint it and maybe fifth grade would do the same.

Sydney VanHorn is my buddy and had such fun with her! I wish i could stay in fifth grade forever so we can do more fun activities!

This was great! I am not even sure where she got some of the stuff in that story. I don't know if she has ever had blueberry pie! So funny. This is a keeper!

Camping

Barry and Sydney went camping last Friday, it was
a big family camp out at Camp Curry. Sydney had
so much fun and came home covered head to toe(s)
in dirt:) Here a few pictures from their overnight.
In case you wonder why I did not go... I take
advantage of the opportunity to have a Girl Night with
friends on campout weekends.

Getting Creative

I was on the hunt for a white sparkle tshirt for Molly
for her recent pictures, you would not think it would
be so hard to find one but it was. So this is what I did,
here is a nice white tshirt before.....

I must say it turned out better than expected.

I just got an iron on sparkle design from JoAnn's

and ironed on and it was great! The pictures

turned out so cute. I am sure you will be seeing

those soon enough. The are too cute not to show

off! ;-)

First Pigtails!!!

Molly's first pigtails!!! They are so cute. I love
when their hair gets long enough to do fun things
with besides the "whalespout"!

I think she looks jut like Sydney at this age...
I am sure I have a pic of Sydney's first pigtails
too and they would look a lot alike!

Happy Birthday to ME!!!

I got to celebrate my birthday twice... I thought I would post some
fun pictures from those celebrations! I am very blessed
to have such wonderful family and friends.

If you are going to be doing something you shouldn't
be doing then you really shouldn't have your sister
take a picture!
I was uploading a few pictures from the camera
this morning and this is what I found... pictures
of Molly on the counter... on the computer!
This all must have happened one morning when
I was in the shower.

Daddy's Are Great!!

I really enjoy when we have a relaxing weekend at home with not a lot of extra activites. The girls get to enjoy lots of extra 'daddy' time. They love to spend time outside riding bikes, playing in the sandbox, playing chase all with Daddy out there with them. It also gives Barry the opportunity to see what fun things I get to see in them during the time I spend with them during the week. I just realize what a blessing it is that our girls can grow up in a Christ centered family with a committed Daddy. Maybe this post should be reserved for Father's Day but I was thinking about it today and decided it did not have to wait to sing the praises of Great Daddy's Everywhere!
