Birdseed Biscuits, Cowbells and Playdates

I am combining a few posts just because they are short and fun.

We had the pleasure of watching Tyler and Bria Boyle for the morning, it was fun for them all to play together!

Another fun picture of the kiddos.

Barry brought home some old cowbells from his Grandpa's farm. The girls thought these were Great! I guess the best gifts are old, farm... things:)

I made Valentine Birdseed biscuits in order for the girls to handout to their friends at church. These turned out a little more fragile than I expected and did not figure they would make it from church to the homes in one shape... so we still have some:)

Best Friends!

I would like to say I am blessed enough to have a handful of truly 'best friends' that I share a lot with in life. However, I have been out of contact with my high school best friend for over 3 years now. We were inseperable in high school. We were at all of each other's family events. We could talk for hours after just having spent the whole day together. I went off to college and she stayed in K.C. We still kept in touch and wrote and called and visited every chance we got. It is hard to imagine your life without someone that you shared silly crushes, gossip, monumental birthdays, college, boyfriends, 'the man of your dreams', kids etc. etc. I guess life just got in the way. We got married started having babies, our lives just took separate paths, I suppose. I have missed being connected with her and keeping in touch with what is going on in our lives. Thankfully, through Facebook, we have found each other again! It has been wonderful! It has been so great chatting and getting reaquainted again. We are looking forward to meeting up soon and catching up in person, with lots of hugs and tears of joy! I think sometimes we don't realize how important and how much we need our friends until they are no longer in our lives, for whatever reason. So cherish your friends! Thank God for them daily! And call that one true friend you have not talked to in waaayyy to long:)

Grandma's Cinnamon Rolls

My Grandma makes the best cinnamon rolls ever! Well, our family is rather biased. I have always wanted to accomplish making them. Last Saturday the girls and I were home all day so I decided this was a good day to tackle Grandma's Cinnamon Roll recipe. It was a very long process but well worth the accomplishment. I still think it is a lot more fun to eat them after Grandma has made them:) During the process I took some pictures to document this activity! Grandma has it down to a "science" and can do it in a few hours... it took my all day!

Turning them into cinnamon rolls... these are not a low fat version!

The finished product! They do taste yummy!!
